We Have Power!
On Wednesday, Bob finished up the outlets and electrical work. He hooked up our gas run generator to the breaker box to give the house power until we hook up the solar equipment. The lights and electrical outlets all have power! He then began installing the loft fan light, but wasn't able to finish because he needed to buy an extension rod to lower it below the rafters. After that, he worked on putting in the outside light by the main door. I worked on insulating the area where the roof meets the walls by applying spray foam insulation and then sealing it in with wood trim. Next, I started on the trim around the windows inside of the house.
Also, my grandfather hiked up our 'mountain' for a surprise visit and scared the crap out of us! He hung out for a while and enjoyed the porch while we worked. It was great to have him stay for a bit, we don't get many visitors!
On Thursday, I finished the basic trim around the windows (they still need a cosmetic strip on each side) and started sanding out imperfections in the wood walls. Bob finished up the loft light, porch flood light as well as the matching kitchen and living room chandelier lights. I love the look of the wood and wrought iron style! We also bought matching lights for the bathroom vanity and both bedrooms. Friday, we'll start on the interior tongue and groove pine board walls!
