Finished Roof! Start on the Windows

We decided to take a break and head out of town for Labor Day weekend. We've had very few relaxing days this summer, but we were finally able to take a couple of days to have fun before summer ends!

Bob went up on Monday after we got back and was able to put up three more panels by himself before heading home. On Tuesday, we had hopes of finishing the roof panels but it was still pretty wet from the overnight rain showers. It makes it impossible to get any footing while trying to work up there! So, for safety's sake, we held off for the next few days while it rained and kept everything wet. On Thursday, Bob only got up one panel before we figured it was still too wet to finish.

This morning, the roof was still damp from the overnight dew, so we went to the car lot and picked up all the windows and doors to transport up instead of laying more panels. When we got back up to the site the roof was finally dry! Today was the day to finish! We started the roof on August 13th and between the aches, pains, and rain it feels like it's been months since we started. The main part of the roof is finished (insulation, panels and ridge cap) and we just have to do edging and trim work at some point. But that can be done anytime.

We then decided to start framing in the windows for the kitchen and were able to finish them before calling it a day. We still need to do sealant and trim work, but it feels rewarding to get them in!
