First of the Rafters

Now that the ridge pole is in place, Christy and I were able to cut and install a few of the rafters. The tricky part was cutting the notch in the rafter at the point where it sits on top of the last log row. We had to figure out exactly where the rafter was going to sit and then cut the pattern.

Once we figured it all out. We used the first rafter as a template for the rest. The first one took us a little over 3 hours to get correct. In total, we installed 5 rafters today, before calling it quits. They are 24" on center. We only have about 33 more rafters to go.
