Adding the Floor Joists & First Pallet Gone!
Happy Independence Day! We spent the morning measuring out the spacing for the floor joists and installing them on the box frame. I had to cut over forty 2" x 8' x 10' boards while Bob and BJ attached them to the frame with joist hangers. We used metal L-shaped brackets to attach them together in the middle and to the girder. In the afternoon, the guys went back into town to pick up more lumber for the floor joists and some sheets of 4' x 8' plywood to deliver it back up to the site. Our first pallet of supplies has been used! Next up, we lay the plywood for the floor and frame the porch!
