A Few Challenges
Things have been moving right along! We don't expect a quick project, all we hope for every time we go up is to make progress. Even if it's a small amount.
Bob had a used dump bed installed onto his truck bed to make it easier to dump rock. We've been adding stone to the driveway in about half the time (with less labor) because of it. The site has also been measured and prepped for placing the footings. In the last few weeks we've come across a few setbacks though.
We had a productive day delivering stone and were on our way back home when Bob's truck decided to just stop running. A week later in the shop and it was back to being used and abused! The following weekend, the front tires went flat on the tractor. Which wouldn't be a big deal usually, but it happened to be blocking the beginning of the driveway. So that huge load of rock that Bob had in his truck at the time had to be dropped right there instead of where it was meant to go. I spent the next day using the side-by-side and transporting it all by hand while the guys worked on the footings.
I should also mention that the black flies have been horrendous! Saturday night after we came home, we went to seven different places looking for head nets and came up empty handed. We needed to be able to work the next day and it was impossible without bug protection. So we bought a bed net from Walmart and I cut it up and took hours sewing head nets for all three of us. They lasted for a couple of uses until real ones came in from Amazon.
