Spring Time Mud Madness

This spring has been a mud pit nightmare! The year before, the driveway wasn't too bad....some wet spots but not horrible. Then we drove over those same spots about a hundred times with a tractor and they became impassible, knee deep swamps! We actually gave these sections names; the river, the lake, the swamp, the pond, the waterfall....yes, we pretty much had a waterfall in a section of the upper part of the driveway.

Thus began our never-ending trips to get stone to fill in the wet areas. We use Bob's truck to get a load, maneuver it up the class 6 road and onto our super squishy "driveway". A dump truck is much too big to make it, so we unload it all by hand and shovel from the bed of his truck. Since these photos, spring rain and our constant travel over these areas has made it worse that what you see here. This is my least favorite part about this project! We also purchased a box blade to attach to the back of the tractor to help level the driveway.

We have seen some nice signs of spring though! Also, pictured below is my mom and I and in another photo, my stepdad, Katelyn our daughter, my mom, me, Bob and Bob's little sister. Photo cred to BJ.
